Viscoelasticity of Liposomal Dispersions

Janus-faced viscoelastic gelling agents—possessing both elastic and viscous characteristics—provide materials with unique features including strengthening ability under stress a liquid-like character lower viscosities relaxed conditions. The mentioned multifunctional is manifested in several body fluids such as human tears, synovial liquids, skin tissues mucins, endowing the special physical resistance property that can be analyzed by dynamic oscillatory rheology. Therefore, during development of pharmaceutical or cosmetical formulations—with intention mimicking physiological conditions—rheological studies on viscoelasticity are strongly recommended selection preparations highlighted. In our study, we aimed to determine various liposomal dispersions. We intended evaluate impact lipid concentration, presence cholesterol 1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DSPC) agents polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) vesicular systems. Furthermore, effect two model drugs (phenyl salicylate caffeine) behavior systems was studied. Based measurements, oscillation rheological properties formulations were influenced composition lamellarity/size vesicles.
